Pustule

A pus filled spot is what a papule is. It is made up of yellow bacteria and broken down cells. It will be raised from the skin surface, it might be red, sore and inflamed. A pustule always has a head.

Papule

A papule is smaller than a pustule, it is a spot, also raised from the skin, it is solid, and more than likely will turn into a pustule. Also known as a blind pimple, it is red, hard and sore.

Comedone

A Comedone is also known as a blackhead or a whithead. A comedone is caused by a hair follicle being blocked by excess sebum and dead skin cells. There are two types of comedones open comedones (blackheads) and closed comdones (whiteheads).
